Due to the amount of snow expected in the next 24 hours, a travel advisory has been issued for west and north parts of the province.
Drivers are encouraged to postpone any unnecessary highway travel in the areas of Grande Prairie, Whitecourt, Hinton, Rocky Mountain House and in between those locations.
Environment Canada says these areas could get up to 20 centimetres of snow. Alberta Transportation and highway maintenance contractors will be out working but drivers are reminded to prepare for winter conditions. Those could include visibility and slippery roads.
It is encouraged that you check 511 Alberta for road conditions if you plan to travel.
